Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty
At Humphrey Jewellery, we stand behind the quality and care that goes into every piece we create. Our goal is to craft jewellery that’s beautiful, responsibly made, and designed to last. Each item is carefully inspected through a detailed quality-control process before it reaches you.
Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law
All of our products and services are covered by the guarantees set out in Australian Consumer Law.
If something goes wrong with a product:
Minor issues – If the problem is small and can be repaired, we’ll fix it at no cost within a reasonable time. If repairs take too long, you can choose between a replacement or a refund.
Major issues – If the issue is significant (unsafe, very different from what was described, unfit for purpose, or unable to be repaired in a reasonable time), you may choose a refund, replacement, or compensation for any reduction in value.
If something goes wrong with a service:
Minor issues – We will fix the service at no charge within a reasonable timeframe. If we’re unable to do so, you may cancel the service and receive a refund for the unused portion, or have it completed elsewhere at our cost.
Major issues – You may cancel the service immediately and receive a refund for the unused portion, or continue with the service at a lower price.
Compensation – You may also be entitled to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage caused by issues with our goods or services.
When Guarantees Don’t Apply
Consumer guarantees do not apply if you:

Simply changed your mind, found a better price, or decided the item no longer suits you

Used the product incorrectly or caused the damage

Were aware of any faults before purchasing

Requested a service to be completed in a way that went against the advice of Humphrey Jewellery, or were unclear about what you wanted
Warranty Coverage
Engagement Rings, Wedding Rings & Fashion Rings
Coverage: Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty from the date you receive your jewellery.
Covers: Manufacturing issues related to the structure of the piece, including:

Metal porosity, pits or structural blemishes

Uneven or faulty settings found at pick-up or during cleaning/servicing
-
Chips, nicks or scratches on stones identified at pick-up or servicing
-
Rhodium plating marks found at pick-up or servicing
Fine Jewellery – Earrings, Chains, Bracelets & Pendants
Coverage: 1-year Manufacturing Warranty from the completion date.
Covers: Structural manufacturing defects that typically appear early in wear.
Remedy: Defective pieces will be repaired or replaced at no cost.
After 24 months: Items will be reviewed individually, and repair fees may apply.
Gemstone Warranty – Diamonds, Lab-Diamonds & Gemstones
Coverage: Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty applies to all Diamond, Lab-Diamond and Gemstones based on the specifications selected at purchase.
What Does not cover:
Wear and tear, accidental damage, loss, chipping, cracking, breakage from impact, theft or mishandling.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
If you believe your jewellery has a manufacturing issue:

Reach out to us through our contact form. A team member will guide you through the next steps.

We’ll arrange the best way for you to return your piece—either by visiting a showroom or sending it back via post.

When posting, include original packaging, certificates, a copy of your invoice and your contact details. Correct packing is essential.

A postage deposit applies: $30 AUD within Australia

Please review what is and isn’t covered before returning your item—postage deposits are not refunded if the issue isn’t a manufacturing fault.

We will assess your jewellery at no charge.

If the issue isn’t covered, we’ll send you a repair quote. If you choose not to proceed, the deposit covers return shipping.

If a manufacturing fault is confirmed, your deposit will be refunded and repairs completed at no cost.

Any repairs completed outside Humphrey Jewellery void the warranty.
Normal Wear & Tear (Not Covered)
All jewellery, especially rings, naturally shows signs of use. The Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty does not apply to:

Scratches, dents or abrasions on metal from everyday wear

Chips, scratches or damage to gemstones from impact or accidents
-
Damage caused by chemicals like chlorine or harsh cleaning agents
-
Discolouration from cosmetics, water, chlorine or cleaning products
-
Worn claws, bands or other components that thin over time
-
Prongs that bend, snag or wear down and allow a stone to fall out
-
Loss of stones due to general wear or accidental damage
Warranty is only valid with proof of purchase and when the jewellery hasn’t been altered by another jeweller.
Jewellery Care Tips
To keep your jewellery looking its best, remove it for hands-on tasks. A simple rule: jewellery should be the last thing you put on before heading out and the first thing you take off at home. We strongly recommend removing rings for gym sessions, sports, and heavy household chores.
